Background & History

Love to Africa's first project was launched when "The Doing It for Africa" (DIFA) team met early in 2007. They comprised of 6 young, adventurous Capetonians planning an expedition through Africa. They wanted their experience to benefit not only themselves, but the countless people they expected to meet along the way. Their mission was to pioneer a social and environmental tourism route through Africa by identifying and profiling an NGO network across the continent. It was their intention to create a goodwill route, a rich mosiac of true stories and real life characters. Their trip kicked off in Cape Town on 18th February 2008 and finished in London on 10th August 2008. You can read all about their adventures and contributions under the Expeditions section on this website.
